Please hear my heart. I am not blogging to push my agenda or my beliefs but we need to do something different if we are going to make a difference. Today is one of those Blog post.
I have written on Wednesdays for a while about my kids and how much I love them. Well I want to introduce, or remind you about another part of our family. We sponsor a child through Compassion International and her name is Saidy.
(Click on Saidy’s picture to see other kids who need you)
We love her and she loves us. We help provide for her spiritual and physical needs and she supplies us with art and letters that are worth more than gold. She is an amazing nine year old alot like the girl that sleeps here in this house two doors down from me.
Today I want to encourage you to pray about sponsoring a child through one of the many organizations out there. We partnered with Compassion International and have loved our time being in Saidy’s life.
Another sponsor you may have heard of is Shaun Groves. He is an amazing artist, musician, humanitarian and child advocate. You have heard my heart now take a moment and listen to his as he shares his experience meeting the child he sponsors. Then go out and pick up his new album.
You know I am all introducing you to amazing music and this is no exception. And if you want to talk more about sponsoring a child leave a comment below, I would love to talk to you. If you already sponsor a child leave a comment and offer some encouragement to those who are thinking about it.

So here I am in the beautiful state of Kansas. It really is beautiful here. I love being able to travel with my worship teams to conferences and this year is no exception. We have 4 of us on this trip and we are being immersed in the worship experience at the National Worship Leader Conference.
We all go through periods of being a little less motivated. We all have times where our worship can feel a bit stale. If you are in need of refreshing these ideas are for you.
– Never get over the wonder of grace.
– Thanksgiving starts the worship process and refreshes.
– Don’t allow the joy of service turn into the drudgery of duty.
– The only real TRUE motivation for ministry is love for Christ
– There is no substitute for a strong personal worship life.
– Be thankful
– Be in the word
– Schedule time to read, rest, think, and unwind.
– Sometimes we have to wait on the Lord (Is. 40), so don’t hurry.
– Spend time with people who know the real you, who will be real with you, who will pour life into you, and who you can pour your life into.
I needed to hear these thoughts today and I want to thank Ps. Buddy Owens for sharing them with the worship conference. So help me add to the list. What do you do to make sure your worship isn’t stale?
Thought I would start doing something different every Saturday night / Sunday morning. I am gonna start posting our set lists for EBC. This will allow other worship leaders to see what we are doing at EBC and why else? I really don’t know why but maybe it would be useful to someone else! If no one views it then i will stop putting it so let me know!!
We are a very diverse church. We have 3 Sunday services: 8:30 – contemporary, 11:00 – Traditional, 6:00pm – Blended Contemporary.

Are you seeking something? Are you searching for that THING (what ever the THING is) that will make you content? If so then this post if for you. How many times do we ask God to help us find the RIGHT path and he shows us the open road to HIS glory and we still decide to go down the path that might lead to our glory. I was reading during my quiet time and look at this.
The Israelites asked God to help them and of course God says no problem but look at what happened after he showed them the way to go.
(from the message, Jeremiah 6:16-21)
God’s Message yet again:
“Go stand at the crossroads and look around. Ask for directions to the old road, The tried-and-true road. Then take it. Discover the right route for your souls. But they said, ‘Nothing doing. We aren’t going that way.’ I even provided watchmen for them to warn them, to set off the alarm. But the people said, ‘It’s a false alarm. It doesn’t concern us.’ And so I’m calling in the nations as witnesses: ‘Watch, witnesses, what happens to them!’ And, ‘Pay attention, Earth! Don’t miss these bulletins.’
I’m visiting catastrophe on this people, the end result of the games they’ve been playing with me. They’ve ignored everything I’ve said, had nothing but contempt for my teaching. What would I want with incense brought in from Sheba, rare spices from exotic places? Your burnt sacrifices in worship give me no pleasure. Your religious rituals mean nothing to me.”
21So listen to this. Here’s God’s verdict on your way of life:
“Watch out! I’m putting roadblocks and barriers on the road you’re taking. They’ll send you sprawling, parents and children, neighbors and friends— and that will be the end of the lot of you.”
Man is that not us today. We say “God help me find the right path” and there is God with a HUGE sign saying GO THIS WAY. But even after asking we chose another way.
Guys, God knows what he is doing so the next time you see another road block come up in your life, stop and ask God “AM I SUPPOSED TO BE HERE”! Then the hard part, wait for an answer .
Have a great week!
